Puncture repair or tyre replacement: what decides?
Understand why tyre damage needs assessment, what to tell a mobile fitter and why some punctures require replacement rather than repair.
Pressure loss does not identify the cause
A tyre losing pressure can have tread damage, valve problems or another leak. A photograph or symptom description can help arrange the visit, but it does not confirm the cause. Tell us when the loss began and whether the tyre has been driven while underinflated.
Condition and damage location matter
The fitter needs to assess where damage is located and the tyre condition before offering a repair. Sidewall damage, extensive damage or damage caused by running flat can make replacement necessary. We do not promise every puncture is repairable or diagnose suitability from a booking form.
Share useful details without taking risks
Send the tyre size, affected wheel, exact location and any safely obtained photo. If you cannot inspect it safely, call with the details you have. Stop using the vehicle if you suspect a tyre is unsafe and arrange appropriate assistance.
Replacement needs a suitable tyre
Replacement must be matched to the vehicle requirements and available stock. Ask the team about the proposed specification and confirmed price. Do not assume that a visually similar tyre is suitable simply because the wheel diameter matches.
Choose urgent help or a planned visit
An immobilised vehicle may need an urgent request; a safely parked vehicle may suit a scheduled appointment. Dispatch confirms current availability and attendance. London coverage and a Slough base do not mean a vehicle is stationed on every street.
